Assign Courses to a Teacher

Choose a teacher, then a class, then the courses they will teach for that class.

For School administrators. Updated 2026-09-13.

Overview

Teacher course assignment links a teacher to existing class-course subjects for a selected year and term. Removing a teacher assignment no longer removes the subject from the class; it clears the teacher and leaves the class-course row in place using the curriculum setup placeholder until another teacher is assigned.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Open Courses or Teachers and choose the teacher assignment view.
  2. Select the academic year, term, teacher, class, and subject rows that should be assigned.
  3. Save the assignment and confirm the teacher appears on the class-course rows.
  4. Use Remove from the teacher assignment view when the teacher should no longer own that subject.
  5. Assign another teacher later without recreating the subject on the class.

Common problems

A subject remains in the class after removing the teacher

Removing a teacher assignment keeps the subject attached to the class.

A row shows no real teacher

Rows with no real teacher may be represented internally by the curriculum setup placeholder.

A teacher does not appear for a subject

Check that the year and term match the class-course assignment.
