Design and Print Student, Teacher, or Employee ID Cards

Choose an audience, design the card layout, then print or export a batch of ID cards as PDF.

For School administrators. Updated 2026-08-01.

Overview

ID Cards uses school identity and user profile data to create printable cards for Students, Teachers, or Employees, depending on which read permission the user holds. The design step sets an accent color, title, footer tagline, up to four info fields (such as class, student ID, or blood group), and whether to show a QR code and photo.

Cards can be filtered by search text and, for students, by class, and either printed directly or exported as a formatted PDF with crop marks.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Open ID Cards
  2. Choose the audience: Students, Teachers, or Employees
  3. Set the accent color, title, tagline, and up to four info fields
  4. Toggle QR code and photo display
  5. Filter and select the specific people to include
  6. Save the design, then Print or Export PDF

Common problems

A card shows initials instead of a photo

Upload a profile image for that user and regenerate the card.

Save setup fails with a permission error

Saving a card design for an audience requires the update permission for that audience (for example the “edit student” permission), not just the read permission used to view the list.
