Record Bookstore Stock Updates

Log stock intake, adjustments, returns, and damage for bookstore products separately from sales.

For School administrators, Accountants, Staff. Updated 2026-08-08.

Overview

Bookstore Stock Updates keeps a dated ledger of every change to a product's stock, separate from recording a sale. Each entry records the update type (Intake, Adjustment, Return, or Damage), the quantity change, and the resulting stock level, so the product's current stock can always be traced back through its movement history.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Open Bookstore > Stock Updates
  2. Select the product and update type (Intake, Adjustment, Return, or Damage)
  3. Enter the quantity change (use a negative number to reduce stock) and an optional cost price snapshot and note
  4. Save the entry

Common problems

Stock does not match the expected total after several updates

Review the Stock Updates history for that product; each entry keeps the previous and new stock level so you can trace exactly which update changed it.
