A child shows as already released today

The desk blocks a second release on the same day unless you tick the override and explain why in a note of at least 5 characters.

For School administrators, Teachers, Staff. Updated 2026-10-09.

Overview

To prevent a child being handed over twice, the Dismissal Desk checks the log for a release already recorded for that student on the current school day. When found, an amber Already released today banner appears with the time and the person who collected.

Pressing Release then shows a checkbox to release again and the note field changes to "Why is the child being released again". The Confirm release button stays disabled until the box is ticked and a note of at least 5 characters is entered. The same applies to unlisted collectors.

Use the second-release route for genuine cases such as a child returning to school for an event and leaving again, and keep the note factual because it appears in the Hand-over log and CSV export.
