Rebuild the Accounting Transaction History
Rebuild transaction history recreates the ledger from existing fees, transport, canteen, bookstore, bank, accounting, and payroll records.
For School administrators, Accountants. Updated 2026-08-01.
Overview
The Accounting page includes a Rebuild transaction history action. It recreates the ledger from existing finance-related records, including fees, transport, canteen, bookstore, bank, accounting, and payroll records. Use it when records exist in source modules but do not appear correctly in Accounting.
Because it rebuilds derived ledger data, it should be confirmed intentionally.
Before you start
- Use an account with account update permission
- Confirm source records exist in their original modules
Steps
- Open Accounting
- Select Rebuild transaction history in the header
- Read the confirmation message
- Confirm
- Review Transaction History and dashboard totals after the rebuild
Common problems
A source transaction still does not appear after rebuild
Check the original module record first; the rebuild can only use records that exist and are valid in source modules.
Totals changed after rebuild
The ledger was refreshed from source records; compare source module histories before assuming the new total is wrong.
