Create a Survey, Add Questions and Open It
Create a draft under Surveys and feedback with New survey, add up to 50 questions, then press Open to publish it to the chosen audience.
For School administrators, HR managers, Directors and proprietors. Updated 2026-10-09.
Overview
Surveys and feedback lets a school ask parents, students or staff what they think. Choose New survey, fill in the Title (at least 3 characters), an optional Description, the Kind (General feedback, Parent satisfaction, Course evaluation, or Lecturer or teacher evaluation) and Who answers (Parents and guardians, Students, Staff, or Everyone).
Anonymity is set to either "Anonymous, names are never stored" (the default) or Named. Opens on and Closes on dates are optional; the closing date must be after the opening date. Questions come in four types: Rating (1 to 5 stars), Single choice (2 to 12 choices, no repeated choices), Yes or no, and Written answer (up to 2,000 characters).
Each question can be marked required, reordered with the arrows or by drag-and-drop, and removed. A survey can hold at most 50 questions, and a live preview on the right shows what respondents will see. Save as draft creates the survey in Draft status; nothing is visible to respondents yet.
Use the Open button on the survey row (and confirm Open survey) to publish it. Opening requires at least one question, and fails if the closing time has already passed. An Open survey only accepts answers between its opening and closing dates; if the dates lapse the row shows "Outside its dates".
Creating needs the “add survey” permission; opening, closing, editing and deleting need the “edit survey” permission. Admins and HR managers can create and manage surveys; directors can view surveys and results only.

Common problems
The Save as draft button is disabled and a red list appears under the form
Fix every listed problem: a title of at least 3 characters, wording on every question, at least two distinct choices on each Single choice question, a chosen teacher or course for evaluation surveys, and a closing date after the opening date.
Opening says "Add at least one question before opening the survey"
Edit the draft, add at least one question, save, then press Open again.
Opening says the closing time has already passed
Edit the survey and move Closes on to a later date, then open it.
I cannot see the New survey button
It needs the “add survey” permission permission. Directors have view-only access to surveys.
