Share a Survey With a Public Link and Customise Its Colours
Make a survey open to anyone with the link, copy its readable address, and match the page colours to your school.
For School administrators, HR managers. Updated 2026-10-13.
Overview
A survey set to “Anyone with the link (public)” gets its own readable address, for example portal.myschoolgh.com/survey/sunshine-academy-parent-feedback. A name based on the survey title is created when you save, and you can change it until the survey is opened. After that the link is fixed, so anything you already shared keeps working.
The link only works while the survey is open. Copy it as soon as the survey is open and paste it into WhatsApp, SMS or email. The public page works well on phones and checks answers before they are submitted.
In the survey builder you can make the page match your school: pick a brand colour (used for the header, buttons and selected answers), an optional background colour, and a header style: Gradient, Solid or Light. A live preview shows the result before you save.
Before you start
- Create the survey and set its audience to “Anyone with the link (public)”
Steps
- Open Surveys & Feedback and create a survey, or open a draft.
- Set the audience to Anyone with the link (public). The readable link appears with a Copy button.
- Under the page colours, choose a brand colour, an optional background colour and a header style, and check the live preview.
- Save the survey, then open it so people can respond.
- From the surveys list, use Copy public link, then paste the link where you want to share it.
Common problems
The link says “Survey not found”
Check that the survey is open (a draft or closed survey does not show), that its audience is public, and that the link has not changed. Copy the link again from the surveys list.
I want to change the link
You can change the readable name only until the survey is opened. After that the link is fixed. To get a different link, duplicate the survey and open the copy.
The colours do not look right
Try the Light header style for a white page with colour accents, or choose a darker brand colour so white text on buttons stays easy to read. Save and check the preview again.
