Add Places, Set the Map Radius and Print a Static Code

Places are named entrances with optional map coordinates and an allowed radius; each can generate a printable, never-changing QR.

For School administrators. Updated 2026-10-09.

Overview

In Attendance > Kiosk set-up, the Places card lists each place with its coordinates and radius and the number of live screens. Add place opens a form: Name (2 to 80 characters, must be unique), a map picker, Latitude, Longitude and Allowed distance in metres (20 to 5000, default 200).

Without coordinates a warning says 'Must be on site' cannot check that place. Editing also offers a Staff can clock in here checkbox; a switched-off place rejects scans ('This place is switched off.').

Printed code shows a QR that links to https://portal.myschoolgh.com/clock with a signed code for that place and a Print button that opens a print sheet titled with the place name. Printed codes never change, so a photo works from anywhere; they are only accepted when Accept printed codes is on and are safest with Must be on site.

Creating or editing places needs the “edit attendance” permission; viewing needs the “view attendance” permission. The staff-QR tab also offers a separate school-wide printable QR for the older self-service flow.
