Register a Kiosk Screen and Activate It
Register a screen under Kiosk set-up to get a one-time code like ABCD-EFGH, then type it at https://portal.myschoolgh.com/kiosk/attendance on the device.

Overview
A kiosk is a monitor or tablet at an entrance. In Attendance > Kiosk set-up > Kiosk screens select Register a screen, choose a Place (active places only) and a Screen name (at least 2 characters). The dialog shows the address (your site plus https://portal.myschoolgh.com/kiosk/attendance) with Copy address and a one-time code in the form XXXX-XXXX.
On the device open that address, which shows Set up this screen, and enter the code. The code works once: activation gives the device its own private token stored in the browser. After linking the screen shows the school name and place, a live QR that refreshes every few seconds, counters for Clocked in today and Clocked out today and the latest scans.
The table status is Showing (seen within 2 minutes), Offline, or Never opened, and refreshes every 15 seconds. Switch off revokes the screen and its token; the device then shows it has been switched off and needs a new code. The device's own Disconnect this device link also unlinks it. Register and Switch off need the “edit attendance” permission.
Before you start
- The “edit attendance” permission permission
- At least one active place
- A screen with internet access and a browser, mounted at the entrance
Steps
- Open Attendance > Kiosk set-up > Kiosk screens and select Register a screen
- Pick the place and name the screen, then Register
- Copy the address and note the code shown
- On the monitor open the address https://portal.myschoolgh.com/kiosk/attendance
- Type the screen code and connect
- Confirm the status turns to Showing in the table
Common problems
'That screen code is not valid.'
Check the code in Kiosk set-up. Codes are letters and numbers without 0, 1, I or O; hyphen is optional.
'This code has already been used on a screen.'
A code works once. Switch the old screen off in Kiosk set-up and register a new one.
Status stays Never opened or Offline
The device has not loaded the page or lost internet. Open https://portal.myschoolgh.com/kiosk/attendance and check it shows a code; Offline means no contact for over 2 minutes.
Screen says it has been switched off
It was revoked. Register a new screen and enter the new code.
