Safe Pick-up permissions and who can do what
The “view pick-up” permission views, the “add pick-up” permission adds collectors and releases students, the “edit pick-up” permission edits collectors and re-issues PINs; parents use My Pick-up for their own children.

Overview
Safe Pick-up is controlled by three permissions. the “view pick-up” permission opens Safe Pick-up, the hand-over log and the daily summary, and the desk search. the “add pick-up” permission allows Add a collector and the Dismissal Desk (https://portal.myschoolgh.com/pickup/desk is only available with it), including release, unlisted release and refusal. the “edit pick-up” permission allows Edit, New PIN and Deactivate/Reactivate on collectors.
By default administrators have all three, teachers and employees have read and create, and directors have read only; the sidebar shows Dismissal Desk to administrators, teachers and employees and Safe Pick-up to those plus directors. Administrators can adjust permissions per role or user, so your school may differ.
Students and parents are blocked from the staff routes with "This view is for staff only." Parents have the separate My Pick-up page limited to their own children. All staff actions (adding, editing, deactivating, PIN failures, PIN re-issues, releases and refusals) are written to the audit trail with the staff member who did them.
If the school's subscription is inactive these pages are blocked.

Steps
- Check the sidebar under Students for Safe Pick-up and Dismissal Desk
- If an item is missing ask an administrator to review your role or user permissions
- Administrators open the role or user permission settings and enable the pickup read, create or update permissions
- Sign out and in again if the menu does not update
Common problems
I can open Safe Pick-up but not the Dismissal Desk
The desk needs the “add pick-up” permission. Directors have only the “view pick-up” permission by default.
I get "Missing permission: the “edit pick-up” permission" when editing
Ask an administrator to grant the “edit pick-up” permission.
A student user opens the page
Students and parents cannot use the staff pages; parents use My Pick-up.
