Reopen a Closed Academic Term
Reopen the most recently closed term to undo an accidental closure and restore pre-closure arrears.
For School administrators. Updated 2026-08-01.
Overview
Reopening is only for correcting an accidental term closure. Only the single most recently closed term directly before the current term can be reopened, and only if it was closed after reversible closure tracking was introduced.
Reopening deletes the arrears and snapshots created by that closure, restores arrear values from before closing, and makes the reopened term and its year current again. Older terms cannot be reopened from the Setup page; contact support for manual review.
Before you start
- The term must be the most recently closed term directly before the current term
Steps
- Open Setup > Academic Years & Terms
- Locate the closed term eligible for reopening
- Select Reopen
- Read the warning about arrears reversal
- Confirm
Common problems
Reopen is not available
