Configure SBA Components and Weighting

Define SBA components and the SBA-to-exam percentage split used across assessments, results, and report cards.

For School administrators. Updated 2026-08-01.

Overview

SBA (school-based assessment) configuration defines named components such as Class Work, Group Work, Quiz or Test, Project, and Midterm, each with a maximum score, plus the percentage split between SBA and the final exam score. The two percentages must add up to 100 before saving.

This configuration is saved against the current academic year and current academic term, so set the academic calendar first.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Open Setup > Academics
  2. Select Use defaults to prefill standard components, or add components manually with a name and maximum score
  3. Set the SBA percentage and Exam percentage so they total 100
  4. Save SBA configuration

Common problems

The SBA panel does not appear

Mark a current academic year and current academic term under Academic Years & Terms first.

A warning shows the percentages do not total 100

Adjust the SBA percentage and Exam percentage so their sum equals exactly 100 before saving.
