Assign Students to Buses and Routes
Assign a student to a bus and optional route with a one-way or two-way fare, individually or in bulk.

Overview
A student can have only one active transport assignment at a time; creating a second active assignment for the same student is blocked until the existing one is deleted or marked inactive.
Bulk assignment automatically skips students who already have an active assignment rather than erroring out, and the assignment list flags any duplicate assignments for review.
Before you start
- Create the bus and route first
Steps
- Open Transport > Assignments
- Select a student and a bus, plus an optional route and fare type
- Save, or use bulk assign to select multiple students at once
Common problems
A student cannot be assigned to a new bus or route
The student already has an active transport assignment; delete or deactivate the existing one first before assigning a new one.
Some students were skipped during bulk assignment
Students already on an active assignment are silently skipped in a bulk assign; check the assignment list for duplicates if this is unexpected.
